Summary of Diggity

Diggity

Diggity is golden labrador.  The golden dog is a loving, fun and playful sort of dog. Diggity loves to dig and that how he got his name.

There was a drama over the missing chillybin lid. Diggity and I ( narrator ) were just waiting.

While packing Diggity was just lolling his pink tongue around. Diggity's owners were all packed up for summer beach holiday. Excited Diggity jumped into the car... They were now coasting up and sown hills. Dad yanked the break. The family hopped out for a lifestyle on the beach. Luckily it wasn't to crowded.

Diggity leaped onto the soft golden sand digging several holes. Thats not surprising I ( narrator ) thought. Mum found the awesome spot and reached out for her flax bag and pulled out a pair of sunglasses and a Woman's Weekly. No one was ready for a swim so I ( narrator ) helped my little sister Lucy build a sandcastle. No one had noticed that Diggity was missing. Squinting at the sea all there was, was a mother and child playing in the shallows. But no sign of Diggity. I ( narrator ) was just about to tell Dad until I saw a two tone furry ball at the water edge. Dad and I sprinted across the hot sand. Diggity's golden coat streaked with blood. A dark coloured dog was snarling it's face into Diggity's neck. " Get out of it '' Dad screamed hurling a piece of driftwood. It thudded against the dogs broad but the dog didn't react. Diggity was squealing. I ( narrator ) was anchored to the spot. Suddenly there was a whoosh, and a cascade of water soaked on the dogs. Dad swung the bucket hitting the dogs bony skull with a sickening crack. The dog rolled off Diggity, scrambled to its feet, and ran off. I          ( narrator ) knelt beside Diggity. He made no effort to get up. His neck was a pulpy mass of blood, and his rib cage rose and fell unevenly. The vet said Diggity had lost heaps of blood. Diggity did survive.
Diggity is a fighter!!!
