A holiday in the holidays.

On Friday it was an endless trip to the outskirts of Auckland.  We were going to see my cousins as we Hadn't seen them in a long time. After a million years we got there... Doing our hellos then it was time to chill out.

The next day I believed that we were staying longer. Until our stuff got thrown into the car. " Where are we going now " I said confused. " To Rotorua " Kelly replied. Century's went by...

Getting to the motel a wiff of sulfer flew past my nose. Sulfer is a mineral in the boiling mud that you find all over Rotorua. We had a swim in the pool. Splash, splash, splash... Soon we were walking along the stoney sand...

Up, up, up. We had an amazing view from high up.  First the gondola and now the luge. Looks like we are going to have a fun filled day I thought. It was time to go back to Taranaki. On our way we stopped at Pamela's castle in Tirau.

The castle was filled with old toys and limited time only characters. The toys were  years from 1810 to 2014 to see the differents that have happened between those years.

1 hour, 2 hour, 3 hour and were home.

Amazin raisins into chocolate buns.

For those that guessed it (not many) the amazin raisins was in fact a culture of wild yeast that we grew. All of the groups managed to unscramble the mixed up bread recipe and make some chocolate buns. Those that worked out the correct amounts, baked great looking and delicious buns and those that got some measurements wrong ended up with not so great buns! It was an awesome end to an amazin mystery in Room 3. Here are some pictures.

Post of the week.

Here is a great descriptive piece by Madaline, that concentrates of character creation. Her aim was to create believable characters through description, dialogue and her reaction to them. I think she did a superb job.

Blog spotlight.

Here is an article by Natalie on the Asian paper wasp. She found a nest and did some research, then posted it on her blog well done Natalie!

MH370 ups and downs.

The sun was shining when MH370 was cruising to New Zealand. Electronics were beaming, teeth were chomping. Then...

Drop. Passengers froze in mid-speech. Crash, boom, ba!!! Everyones bodys were flying through the air. What was going to happen next?

Crash!!! What happened? Kids were watching dolphins and fish swim by. Soon everyone realised where they were.

Panicking got a bit over the hand. Running around screaming let alone a flood of tears. Tear stained faces were permanently stuck on.

Screech, cackle, scream croaked the motor violently. With one last scream victory was at reach. The plane was now in for a unbelievable ride... Footprints covered the wet golden sand.

Everyone is a survivor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

A winters day poem.

Wow 900 views. I am getting up there. Thank you to you all for viewing my blog.

It's a nightmare.

Peering through the window jagged glass stuck out from the edges. Small islands of moss grew from the cracks. The furniture had bones crawling from underneath them ready to attack. Photos of ancestors showed their ghastly faces. Should I go in?... The rusted handle screamed as you got grip. Old paint was walking down the walls.

The stairs were screeching without a single touch. A lake of red flooded the lifeless room. Chunks of wood fell off the walls. Unpleasant  smells whiffed all over. Ripped curtains covered the cloudy windows. What would happen next?

Cobwebs grew bigger. The floorboards were jumping up and down. Lightbulbs were now millions of pieces on the floor. It was a nightmare. Mountains of dust that were too high to climb.

I have to get out of here!!!!!!!!

Eternity wait, delicious prize.

Tick, tick, tick. " Why does it have to be an eternity"? Do you think time is a thief? The noise was the loudest thing in the world. Gripping on coins, they were a burning sun in my hand.

A middle-aged man in front had sweaty substance dripping off his bare head. Scratching his unpleasant armpit. I think it is a wise decision to leave the line. Who cares about an ice-cream.

Look there's Cullum and his daughter Sophia. Pushing, pushing, budging, budging. They get in front.
I don't even think "wait" or "patience" are in their vocabulary. It's already been a century and we haven't even moved an inch.

Grooving to the beat. A man dancing side to side. Would you like to listen pulling out a huge chunk of wax. "No thanks" I replied. " There's really weird people in this town" I thought.

Next in line was Ella, the greedy, fat, Ella. " I will have five ice-creams sir" she boomed. " Wow Ella are you going to share those." Said the ice-cream man surprised." " No I won't there all for me" she snapped.

What's wrong with the people in this town?

Going back in years.

Strawberry is at Puke Ariki. Strawberry has a journal to keep track of his holiday. Can you guess we're Puke Ariki is to help Strawberry.

Swim, Bike, Run

It was me and 1600 other people. What a crowd. How could a tryathlon be this popular?

The loud speaker burst everyones eardrums. 10 year olds your up. My tension was building up horrendously. Walking on the beach my nerves crept higher and higher.

Crunch, crunch, crunch the sand said for every footprint I invented. Waiting was an eternity. On your marks, get set, go!! The freezing water captured me I was ice. Time for the bike.

Up, up, up. Why does it have to be so tiring. I regret coming now. Why did I make a decision to come. I was locked in a horrible nightmare.

Sprint, zoom, run. This is easy I thought peering at the track. Passing everyone in sight. Soon I had a gold treasure round my neck...

It may have been tiring but I got an awesome reward.
